The Jordanian Nurses Network

Bringing Nurses Together

Background and Motivation

Nurses and midwives are the backbone of the health care system as they comprise the largest group of health care professionals, thus, any instability in the supply of nurses and midwives to meet the health care demands of the population they serve is a serious threat to the quality of care provided to people. The contribution of nurses to meet the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and deliver effective quality care has been recognized by the WHO.

Since human resources are the most valuable asset in Jordan, the focus should be directed towards the proper investment of health care professionals in the health care industry at the national level as well as at the regional and global levels. The development of the nursing and midwifery services is a vital component of health care systems and health services development.

With the leadership of Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al- Hussien, the JNC plays a significant role in improving the quality of nursing and midwifery  practice and education in Jordan. JNC establishes the Jordanian Nurses and midwives Network as one approach to connect nurses and midwives together and advance nursing and midwifery practice and education.

The Jordanian Nurses and Midwives Network is a practical step forward in addressing nursing and midwifery  and strengthening its contribution to the national, regional and global health agenda.

JNC is keen to support the work of nurses and midwives in all areas of practice, education, leadership and research and to promote opportunities for exchange of ideas and expertise
