Six board meetings took place during the year 2006 as below:

The seventeenth meeting took place on Sunday Jan
8th 2006 headed by HRH Princess Muna, The President of the
Council.
Items
discussed include the followings:

Approval
Budget for 2006.

End
of year financial statement of 2005.

Renewal
of the contract for external auditor for 2005.

Closing
Trust account and transferring money to JNC bank account.

Appointing internal auditor.

Allocating same contribution of last year and adding University of
Philadelphia /Jerash.
- Approval of training courses standards.
- Approval of certification principles.
- Establishment
of two Permanent Committees (Practice Committee, Specialty committee)

- Progress
on the First JNC International Nursing Conference 25th-27th April
2006
- The frequent postponing of Board Meetings,
the board members have chosen Thursday as the day for the coming
meetings.
- HE Dr .Hussein Jaza’iry interest in attending the conference
- Approval
of Council of Ministers to allocate a land for the JNC.
> The
eighteenth meeting took place on Thursday March
16th 2006 headed by HRH Princess Muna, The President of the
Council.
Items
discussed include the followings:
- Approval of the amendments of committee guidelines.
- Re-forming the permanent committees (Administrative and Financial
Committee and Planning Committee).
- Overview of financial status.
- Overview of the JNC activities for the last two months which include:
· Committee's preparedness for The First Jordanian International
Conference.
· The mentorship program at Jerash hospital/MOH from 5-16/3/2006.
- Dr. Fat'hieh Abu Mughli viewed the guidelines and application form for
the eastern Mediterranean regional office special grant for research in
priority areas of public health 2006 (WHO).
- Competency exam.
- The agreement with Ministry of Higher Education and Research dated
8/3/2006.
- The progress of the JNC permanent place.
- The board members were invited to the strategy workshop in Tuesday
21/3/2006 which held at Larsa Hotel.
- HRH & Board approved HE Minster of Health request of presence of
legal councilor in future board meeting.
- The JNC Annual Report 2005 was distributed.
- Decision of forming media committee –names were not nominated.
> The
nineteenth meeting took place on Tuesday 4th April 2006 headed by HE
Minister of Health Mr. Said Darwazeh, Vice President

discussed include the followings:
- Welcoming new member Brig.Dr.Rowaidah Hjazean.
- Approval of the
Jordanian Nursing Strategy 2005-2010.
- Approval of Standards for Institutional Accreditation of Clinical
Settings.
- Re-forming the media committee.
- Overview of the JNC activities:
· Mentorship program at MOH hospital /Al –Mafraq in collaborative with
faculty nursing Al al-Bayt University from 19-29/3/2006.
· Adding the Competency Exam and sample of questions to the website.
- Approval to rent the second floor of the JNC.
- Overview the round table addressing critical shortages in nurses and
midwives that will be conducted in the first International Jordanian
Nursing Council Conference.
> The
twentieth meeting took place on Thursday 6th July 2006 headed by HRH
Princess Muna, The President of the Council.

discussed include the followings:
- Brief on competency exam
- Overview of the Financial issues of the JNC:
· Approval of external auditor preliminary report for 2004
· Examine the final report of external auditor for the year 2003.
- Brief
on the recommendation and evaluation of the international JNC conference
which was held on April 2006.
- Approval
of the coming conference to be held in collaboration with the University
of Jordan, King Hussein Cancer Center and University of Applied Sciences
and suggested to be held at the University of Jordan grounds
- Overview of the JNC activities for the last two months which include:
· Mentorship program which was held at the Royal Medical Services from
3-15 June 2006
· Mentorship program which was held at the Royal Medical Services in
collaboration of WHO / Iraq office in Amman from 17-28 June 2006
- HRH
emphasize the importance of interviewing student joining nursing
programs in Jordan Universities and asked to explore legal implication
about this issue.
- Emphasizing
the possibility of JNC to form alliances with other nursing
organizations in the country
- Discussion
on The global Alliance for nursing and midwifery which will take place,
and JNC board was informed that HRH will launch it on Sep. 11, 2006
through a video conference with 7 countries and 6 regions of WHO
> The
twenty first meeting took place on Thursday 2nd November 2006 headed by
HRH Princess Muna, The President of the Council.

Overview of permanent JNC law no (53) year (2006) of items added or
changes or deleted
- Overview the action plan of nursing strategy (2006-2010)
- Overview of the program on leadership for change for nurses which will
be Launched on 11th Nov. 2006 by HRH Princess Muna
- Proposal of practice development continuing education programs at JNC
for (2006-2008), the board suggested that these will run in
collaboration with the followings institutions:

Activities of the Council
· Mentorship learning program which was held in Mu’tah University
between 21st and 27th Aug. 2006.
· The award ceremony for excelling nursing graduates of Jordan
Universities 9 August 2006.
· Open Discussion at University of Jordan Hospital, Aug 22nd 2006

Follow
up on plans of the JNC permanent building by Secretary General of
Ministry of Higher Education and he also asked to send him criteria for
selection of student nurses which might be based on interview criteria
which should be developed by deans of nursing colleges and a committee
was formed for that.
-
Dedicate
20 scholarships for female nurses and linking it with Princess Muna
Scholarship Found for Nursing.
- Chairman
of Specialty Hospitals propose to dedicate few scholarships for student
nurses after discussing this issue with his board of trustees.
> The
twenty second meeting took place on Thursday 14th December 2006 headed
by HRH Princess Muna, The President of the Council.
Items
discussed include the followings:
- Approval the action plan of national Strategy.
- Approval Balance sheet.
- Approval
of budget 2007.
- Approval
of Employment Schedule.
- Approval
of the proposal of certification committee.
- Approval
to re-form the following committees:
Committee Duties:
1. Discuss the Council Budget.
2. Approve the contributions of public and private universities and
institutions
Committee Duties:
1. Review and develop the strategy of organizing professions and
put priorities for the action plan.
2. Make suggestions of the proposed rules and regulations before
its approval from the Council Board.
3. Review the policy on nursing education and hospitals
accreditations standards for clinical training.
4. Review and discuss any proposed project, instructions and
standards from the different committees.
5. Set up a mechanism of collaboration and coordination between the
different sectors to encourage the scientific research.
6. Organize and plan ceremonies, scientific days, and open days.
7. Organize and plan for publishing brochures issued by the Council
Committee Duties:
1. Set up practice guidelines in accordance with approved rules and
regulations
2. Set standards and delineate competencies for nurses
3. Set guidelines fro contracting with consultants and experts
4. Working on implementing the approved standards
5. Improve the motivation of nursing staff to promote a
professional ladder
Committee Duties:
1. Review the documents approved from the Council.
2. Review the available references that concern the specialty
accreditation.
3. Specify Standards for each specialty and titles.
4. Set standards for education specialty.
5. Find mechanism of licensure and re-license.
6. Keep records for each specialty.
7. Consult with stakeholders of each specialty.
8. Write annual reports.
9. Collaborate with other Council committees.
10. Write funding proposals for projects.
11. Organize workshops on new trends in nursing.
12. Credentialing.
13. Set guidelines for nursing certification in accordance with the
Council law.
14. Reject certification if the conditions are not compatible with the
rules and regulations.
15. Ensure the information credibility related to accreditations.
16. Organize records for the allied health professionals.
17. Review the needs for nursing specialization on annual basis. |
