First JNC Nursing:
Global Citizenship Conference 2006
Overall Evaluation

The
organizing committee of the JNC international conference met on Tuesday
16th of May , 2006 and discussed the conference.
Dr.
Elen Al Safadi, presented the outcome of the evaluation which was between
“somewhat satisfied and very satisfied 4 out of 5”.
The
following were raised in regard to strengths, weaknesses, suggestions,
future partners and lessons learnt.

Strengths
|
1
- Overall
conference activities were very good, a lot of interaction, link and
communication.
2 - Workshops
were very good
3 - Round
table was excellent
4 - Some
committee members were very good and went out their way to solve some
problems.
5 - Conference
met the objectives on networking, globalization.
6 - Papers
were of very good quality.
7 - The
sense of ownership of all sectors was apparent

Weaknesses |
1
- Duplication
of efforts between the Arab Organizers and committee members
2 - Activities
details were not apparent to all.
3 - Certificates;
there was a problem with the distribution, again duplication and
weakness of the JNC secretarial work regarding the preparation of
certificates.
4 - Closing
ceremony was flat and brief.
5 - Bio
sketch of presenters did not reach the moderators of sessions.
6 - Plenary
sessions were not as good as expected.
7 - The
venue in regards to parking was not convenient
8 - Time
of presentation was not very adequate.
9 - There
should have been more coffee breaks
10 - No
designated prayer place.
11 - Scientific
committee role during the session was not apparent or visible.
12 - Some
committee members did not abide to what was decided on with the
chairperson beforehand.
13 - Arab
organizers were not organizing, in terms of registration, providing
information about presenters to moderators, distribution of
certificates and bags.
14 - The
conference objectives on collaboration and multidisciplinary
issues were fairly achieved.

Suggestions |
1
- Concentrate
on more workshops and lessen the number of presentations
2 - Student
presentations should be in a separate session, under the names
suggested “mentored Listening”.

- There
should be a named medical team to support the conference.
4
- There
should be a coordinator to the three committees

Future
Partners
|
|
It
was decided that future partners to be the University of Jordan,
University of Applied Sciences and King Hussein Cancer Center.

Lessons
Learnt |
1
- There
is no need to any company to organize the future conference.
2 - Take
all weaknesses into consideration.
Partnership
is very welcome with other institutions to promote ownership |
