Standing Committees

 

Five Standing committees were formed by the Council

1- The Practice committee. Its term of reference include the following:

      a- Follow on planning activities that is dependent on the strategy
b- Set a general framework for the Job description of the general nurse and the  specialized nurse
c- Start on a process to apply the nursing standards accredited by the Council
d- Set evidence

2- The competency Exam Committee. Its term of reference include the following
      a- Gather questions from various committees
      b- Assure that the questions are valid, well constructed, and comprehensive and balanced and according to dimensions.
      c- Re- feed the computer with new questions
      d- Write report periodically and annually and give to committees about gaps in questions or codes missing etc   

3- Education and Research Committee

Its term of reference is to
a. Set the standards of education
b. Set the priorities of research.
c. Propose to policy committees the policies of education
d. Any other issues

4-Committee of  setting policies of nursing education between JNC and Ministry of Higher Education and Research

      a- Suggest plans on policies of nursing education
b- Set position papers
c- Make suggestion to increase the numbers of females entering nursing workforce and reduce the number of male entrants so that a ratio of female to male reaches
d- Collaborate with various partners

5- Certification committee. Its term of reference include the following:

• Devise a list of areas of specialization and their titles and definitions.
• Suggest standards for each area (specify qualification, practices, job description and other requirements).
• Suggest standards for education program in the specialized area
• Devise mechanism for certification and recertification
• Keeping a register and developing a system for it.
• Develop tools necessary to disseminate the processes.
• Advocate within the health care system to facilitate the adoption of advanced roles within the practice areas.
• Develop programs.
• Write funding proposals.
• Organize workshops to disseminate the information on the new developments in this area.
• Revision of requests for certification.
Monitor need for new areas of specialization or review existing one and suggest necessary amendments
