Abstract

The 2025 Jordanian Nursing Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (JNCLEX‑RN) was implemented in alignment with the Jordanian Nursing Council Standards and Competencies for the Registered Nurse (2026). The exam evaluates candidates’ achievement of entry level professional practice and competencies required for safe, ethical, evidence‑based, and client‑centered nursing practice across healthcare settings, as set by JNC policy.

A total of 3990 candidates took the JNCLEX‑RN nationwide, with an overall pass rate of 79.2%, indicating that candidates met the JNC‑defined entry‑to‑practice competency threshold. Variations in performance by exam date, sex, admission pathway, and number of attempts were identified, reflecting differential attainment of competencies related to clinical judgment, professional accountability, and application of the nursing process.

Domain‑level and client‑needs analyses demonstrate relative strength in competencies related to community‑oriented care, health promotion, and maternal–newborn nursing, while comparatively lower attainment was observed in mental health nursing, leadership and management, and psychosocial integrity. These findings provide evidence to guide JNC regulatory decisions, nursing education quality assurance, and targeted remediation strategies, consistent with the Council’s mandate to protect the public and ensure workforce competence.
